大行法師個人經歷介紹 Intro. of Da-Xing Fa Shi
大行法師出生並在義大利熱那亞長大，來自一個天主教家庭。他從小就開始學習中國武術和氣功，並接受培訓成為第六代楊式太極拳傳承人。憑藉在亞洲和西方武術方面的成就，他在熱那亞經營一家武術館多年，並擔任首席教練。
在世界各地進行武術訓練期間，他有機會接觸到佛法，並決定進一步研究佛教。大行法師最初皈依芬蘭籍大慧法師並在其座下受五戒。隨後在亞洲和美國繼續自己的求法和學習之路，期間曾多次參加聖嚴法師在美國紐約主持的密集禪修以及宣化上人在加利福尼亞萬佛城主持的密集禪修。他還曾在美國伯克利壹所寺院居住多年跟隨恒實法師學習，並進行過多次為期三個月的閉關修行。
大行法師在臺灣森光法師座下剃度，隨後於2005年4月於臺灣中臺禪寺惟覺法師座下受三壇大戒。2011年，大行法師終因機緣成熟而遇到自己的恩師果如法師。果如法師是聖嚴法師的大弟子，承接祖師禪法的法脈。自此，大行法師便跟隨恩師學習祖師禪法，最終得到果如法師傳法成為其法子。近年來大行法師一直協助果如法師在各地指導禪修。
Da Xing Fa Shi was born and raised in Genoa, Italy, in a typical Catholic family. From a young age Da Xing Fa Shi started to learn Chinese martial arts and Qi Gong and was trained to become Shifu (Master) of the sixth generation from the founder of the Yang Style Tai Ji Quan. Years later, Da Xing became accomplished in Asian and Western martial arts. For many years, he was the owner and the leading teacher of a martial arts studio in Genoa.
While training in martial arts around the world, he had the opportunity to encounter Buddhist teachings, and soon decided to further investigate Buddhism. In fact, Da Xing Fa Shi started his studies, took refuge, and received the Five Precepts under Venerable Master Tae Hye Sunim. He continued his learning throughout Asia and the United States, where he attended several intensive Chan retreats under the guidance of Venerable Master Sheng Yen, and other rigorous retreats at the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas in Northern California, founded by Venerable Master Hsuan Hua. He spent significant amounts of time at the Berkeley Buddhist Monastery, where he lived with the Abbot Venerable Heng Sure. During these years, he also led solo retreats of various durations.
In April 2005, after becoming a novice monk in Taiwan under the guidance of Venerable Master Sen Guang, Da Xing Fa Shi received the full Mahayana monastic ordination under the supervision of Venerable Master Wei Chueh at Chung Tai Chan Si Monastery in Central Taiwan.
In 2011, Da Xing Fa Shi had the great opportunity to meet his current teacher, Chan Master Guo Ru, who is the great disciple of Master Sheng Yen carrying on the Chinese Chan Teaching. From that time on, he has continued to follow Master Guo Ru’s guidance.
Da Xing Fashi received transmission from Master Guo Ru later on. Now he travels to different countries conducting retreats and workshops to propagate Chinese Chan to anyone interested in learning Buddhism.
與師父結法緣的過程 How he learn from Gou-Ru Shifu
我曾經走過許多寺院，從歐洲到臺灣、美國、韓國，拜訪了很多善知識，一直在尋找合適的師父。參加過很多次禪修營，並在不同的寺廟裡接受過不同的教導，但由於因緣不成熟，始終未能遇到真正相應的師父。
後來，在臺灣有機會參加了由果如法師在法鼓山主持的禪七，教授大慧宗杲的禪法。我立刻對果如法師獨特的教學方式產生興趣並印象深刻，與之前所經歷過的完全不同。從那時起，我開始研究古代禪宗以及果如法師所傳授的教義，經過一段時間後完全信服于果如法師及其教誨。
因此，我都決定無論有多困難我都要跟隨他所傳授之道。也是從那時起，我開始意識到儘管多年來自己的修行非常努力，但因為一直基於某種“形式”而修行, 我並不能真正深入其中。在接觸到“最上乘”的正確教導後, 我開始能夠摒棄許多妄想，也獲得了一些真實的修行體驗。師父對我的幫助是往往是通過棒喝或逼榨讓我直面所謂的“困境”。
近年來, 我跟隨他在臺灣、中國大陸和歐洲等地指導禪修。如果非要說他給予我的教誨是什麼, 那就像是夜空中的綻放的煙花，壯麗、精彩而富有生命力，但你卻抓不住任何東西。過去我曾經走訪和居住過許多道場，但這些地方基本上或多或少都採取帶有某種設定、某種模式的修行方式。 而在祖師禪林，我們只需參與日常活動，這個當中的區別並不是你做什麼，而是你怎樣去做。師父只要求我們時刻用般若智慧，僅此而已！
我這個和尚沒有什麼智慧，如果要解釋師父給了我什麼，或者叫我傳授什麼，那就很難找到了。然而，三寶的工作需要進行，所以我們保持 “只是去做”！
I passed through several temples and different teachers in search of the proper Master , wandering from Europe to Taiwan, United States, Korea. I participated several Chan retreats and lived in different temples where I received different teachings, yet due to causes and conditions, I was not able to find the Diamond Tiger at the right time.
Finally one time in Taiwan, I was able to attend a 7-day Chan Retreat at Dharma Drum Mountain lead by Chan Master Guoru. It was a retreat based on Dahui Zonggao’s teaching. Immediately I was impressed and somehow interested in Master Guoru’s way of teaching, different from what I experienced before.
From then on, I started to examine the ancient Chan Patriarchs’ Teaching and Chan Master Guoru, and after some time, I completely convinced of the authenticity of Master Guoru and his Teaching. So I committed to follow his Teaching, no matter how difficult it could be.
From that time, I started to realize that although I had been practicing very hard for many years, because I practiced based on some kind of “form”, I was not really able to go deeper. But after being correctly exposed to the “ Proper Teaching of the Supreme Vehicle “, I was able to leave behind many illusions so I got some interesting experiences. My House Master, Shifu Guoru, helped me by pushing me many times to face so called “difficult situations”.
For several years, I followed him in Taiwan , Mainland China , Europe, helping him in Chan Retreats. If I have to say what his Teaching is about , I can just tell that it is like firecrackers in a night cloudless sky, so powerful, wonderful, alive, yet you cannot grab a single thing.
During the past years, I visited and stayed in many places but more or less there was some kind of set up, some specific practice, but here at Chan Grove, we just engage in daily activities, yet what makes the difference is not what you do but how you do it. Shifu just asked us to use Great Prajna. That’s it!
Now this monk surely doesn’t have any wisdom and if have to explain what thing Shifu Guoru gave me or ask me to teach, it would be very difficult to find a single thing. Yet the Work of the Three Jewels needs to be carried out so we keep “Just Do It” !
目前弘法方向與現狀 Present condition
十方祖師禪國際禪修中心是一個以捐贈為基礎的501(c)(3)國際佛教非營利組織，源自中國禪宗，由大行法師創立。它主要在亞洲、歐洲和美國運作，但我們也願意在其他國家積極開展活動。與佛教盛行的亞洲國家相比，美國對佛教的接觸時間不到一個世紀。美國有許多活躍的佛學院校包括小乘部、金剛乘、大乘、禪宗、日本禪和經論研究等。所有這些傳統都來自不同的國家，並因此反映了特定地區的文化影響。儘管中國禪宗也有少量傳播，但令人遺憾的是，絕大多數西方人沒有接觸過中國禪宗，甚至更少有人能夠運用禪法提升他們的生活茶，我們希望能夠為禪宗的推廣做出貢獻。
該組織及其附屬機構的目標是將禪宗教義傳播給對學習佛陀教誨感興趣的人，以深刻地造福他們。在這裡，我們採用傳統與現代相結合的教法，也為大家提供了與禪宗相關的中國文化體驗。
Universal Chan is a donation-based 501(c)(3) international Buddhist non-profit organization derived from the Chinese Chan (Chinese ‘禪’, Japanese ‘Zen’) Tradition, founded by the Chan Monk Da Xing. It operates mainly in Asia, Europe, and the USA, but we are open to be active in other countries as well. Compared to Asian countries where Buddhism is a prevalent religion, the USA has only been exposed to Buddhism for less than a century. Many active Buddhist schools across the USA are of Hinayana, Vajrayana, Mahayana, Chan, Japanese Zen, and doctrinal studies. All these traditions come from different countries and consequently reflect cultural influences and inflections specific to their place of origin. Although the Chinese Chan Tradition is present, we hope we can give our contribution to spread this wonderful teaching. It is a great pity that the vast majority of westerners have not been exposed to Chinese Chan, and even fewer people are able to use Chan Buddhism to improve their lives.
The goal of the organization and of its affiliations is to spread the Chan Teachings to deeply benefit those interested in learning the teachings of the Buddha.
In doing this, we use a modern approach rooted in ancient tradition to expose people to other aspects of ancient Chinese culture connected to this teaching.
弘法面臨的困難 Challenges while spreading Dharma
在美國加利福尼亞弘法中，我們面臨著學生不足和資源不足的問題。現有的禪修中心面積太小，無法提供住宿或長時間活動。對於多天的禪修，需要臨時租用場地。為此，我們希望購買或者長租一個大一點的場地來發展活動，但由於成本問題，我們正在等待能夠負擔得起的時機。
In propagating Dharma in USA, California we are facing lacking of Students and resources. Our actual Chan Center cannot provide any lodging or any activities longer than a day. For Many Days Retreats we need to rent a space.
We wishing to buy a place for developing our activities or even temporarily renting ones, but due to the costs we are waiting the time we can afford it.
